Migraine is characterized by headaches evolving into crises.
These migraine attacks, which often begin on one side of the head, have an inconstant duration and frequency.
They can last a few hours as several days, and may occur on a weekly basis as well as annually.
The intensity of a migraine is also variable. Pain is throbbing.
Migraine may be accompanied by nausea or vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound - phonophotophobia. In some cases, the headache is preceded by a series of signs, it is called migraine with aura. Pain during migraine is mainly due to an excessive dilation of blood vessels around the brain. Migraine also has a genetic origin, that is to say that some people are more likely to develop the disease than others.
